ECO? XECO!
Excellence demands innovative methods and solutions. The same applies to sustainability – to ensure we continue to meet the ecological and social challenges of the future. And that’s exactly what our XECO community is for.
Our target is to be a company with a high level of responsibility for today’s and tomorrow’s generation. Ideally at every level, but, in particular, from an ecological context. This is why we started to record and reduce our CO2-emissions.
Even though our ecological footprint as an IT-service-provider is already lower than the industry norm, we see a lot of potential for reductions.
Our main lever for reductions of CO2-emissions are electricity consumption and heating requirements in our offices. This is where the community comes into play. We have changed over completely to green electricity in our offices in Augsburg and adjusted our heating concept. We have been able to save 24 tons of CO2-emissions in our largest office, Alois-Senefelder-Allee, within one year. Our office in Austraße is even a step further. Thanks to the photovoltaic system installed last year, we have been able to cover our electricity requirements to a large extend directly from solar energy.
Our next steps: to increase the energy efficiency in our offices. For example, with energy saving technologies and a reduction of the standby consumption of our technical devices. We can also do a lot when it comes to avoidance of waste. We also want to record and optimize our ecological footprint caused by commuting and business trips. And, of course, this is only possible with the input of all XITASOnians, who are obviously fully committed.
